thousand splendid suns

read "thousand splendid suns" recently and i loved it.A story about two women, women of afganistan. It forced me to think about how the world had neglected them, their own people bulllied them yet they lived, for their parents, for their children and their land too. The same land where they suffer through tremendous turmoil. The book showed how life of common people become worse in war time. There are two women in this story. Thou they are broughtup in different scenarios but in both the cases, their life start with dreams and hopes which are different from each other and yet somehow same as both are longing for love and time of people they love so much. But when reality struck, both lives are left with miseries with no fault of their own. Whats "splendid" is their hope, their struggle, their attitude towards life which doesn't let them give in. And that makes this story so gripping. One of the reason i liked this story so much maybe the fact that i always read a story from my heart not from my brain and the issue of women sufferings is very close to my heart. There was a time while reading, when i thought, "Oh! please make their miseries stop". When i read their problems, our own so called BIG problems of not having a good enough job, money and looks seems to be irrelevant.
Now changing political conditions of the country and international communities are finally improving their life. I hope that their life leads to a better future.
